Add in a wannabe King with a height complex, a bunch of fairy-tale superstars, and a biscuit with attitude, and you've got this year's must see new musical comedy, so be quick to get your Shrek The Musical tickets today!

After a lengthy showing on Broadway from December 2008 to January 2010 as well as 8 Tony Award nominations, the Broadway production creative team returns for the London show, featuring new songs and scenes.

Playing the lead role of the green monster himself, Shrek, is Nigel Lindsay, who most recently played Muslim convert Barry in the 2010 smash hit film Four Lions as well as appearing in many productions both televised and onstage. Shrek’s love interest, Princess Fiona, will be played by Amanda Holden, judge on the Britain’s Got Talent series on ITV as well as being a West End star in her own right. MC and comedian Richard Blackwood will play Donkey and former Eastenders bad boy Nigel Harman will play the evil Lord Farquad.

Accompanied by this stellar cast, the show boasts two directors, Jason Moore, whose London credits include puppet musical Avenue Q, and Rob Ashford, who directed the highly acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
