The National Theatre of London offers to the general public an amazing epic play, War Horse, based on a novel by Michael Morpugo, and adapted by Nick Stafford. It is the moving story of a young boy, Albert, who wants to retrieve his beloved horse, sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. Albert’s harrowing search soon turns into an odyssey leading him into a desolation land but all his efforts won’t be vain and he will be able to bring his horse to home.

War Horse is the perfect mix of feelings, adventure and art, a theatrical masterpiece suitable for children and an adult audience, a spectacular scenography enriched by the use of astonishing life-size puppets made by Handspring Puppet Company. The Sunday Times says that “War Horse only confirms the National’s extraordinary knack of turning children’s literature into the finest drama”.
